Gadsby Lodge is a 73-room boarding house situated on large park like grounds at 59 Gadsby Road in the heart of Favona. Gadsby Lodge is located only a few minutes’ drive from Mangere town and 15 minutes to the airport
All rooms have been recently refurbished and are of a good size, furnished with a double bed, wardrobe, drawers, chair, TV and fridge/freezer.
Most of the rooms are the same size. Rates are $250 per week for one person with an extra $50 per week for a second person in the room (couples only, no share twin).
Your rent includes power, water and internet. Common areas are cleaned weekly. Meals are not supplied. You will be expected to keep your room hygienic and clean up after yourself when you use the communal areas.
Communal facilities include 11 toilets, 10 showers, 4 baths, a large kitchen/dining area, lounge and computer alcove. The communal areas are spacious and nicely furnished.
Outside there are a few picnic tables under large established trees, a BBQ, hangi and umu area and large spaces for communal and private vege gardens. There is often a volleyball net and similar things out in the summer.
Parking is available on an allocated basis.
There are about 88 existing flatmates, with around 14 couples. About three quarters of the current tenants are working and one quarter are on a benefit or pension. The average age is 50 something.
